Questions, answered.
A few things people ask before they listen. If your question isn't here, I'm a short email away.
FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) compresses audio without throwing any data away — unpack it and you get back the exact original samples, bit for bit. That makes it the format of choice for archival-quality libraries.
Kord is built around local FLAC because it's the most honest way to store and play music you own: full fidelity, no subscription, no streaming compression.
FLAC preserves the source samples. Actual output on iPhone depends on the audio route, system processing, and settings; Kord does not promise identical output to every DAC.
Available now on the App Store for iPhone (iOS 18 or later). This iPhone listing does not include a desktop release.
Kord does not provide a music catalog. It plays FLAC from Apple Files, selected Google Drive files, and a Jellyfin server you connect. There is no Kord subscription; Drive and Jellyfin need your own accounts and network access.
Download Kord on the App Store for iPhone. For questions, contact support.
