Terms of Service

The fine print.

Short, readable terms for using Kord. No legalese mazes — just the ground rules.

Effective date: June 12, 2026

Agreement

By downloading or using Kord ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app. These terms apply in addition to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA).

What Kord is

Kord is a music player for iPhone and Mac that plays audio files stored locally on your device. It is not a streaming service, a music store, or a file-hosting platform. You bring the music; Kord plays it.

Your content

You are responsible for the audio files you load into Kord. The app does not verify whether you have the right to play a given file. By using Kord, you represent that you have the legal right to play the content in your library.

Google Drive

If you connect your Google Drive to import files, you authorize Kord to access your Drive in read-only mode to retrieve the files you select. Kord's use of Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. See our privacy policy for details on what data is accessed and how it's handled.

Acceptable use

Don't use Kord to:

  • Distribute copyrighted material you don't have the rights to.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the app.
  • Use the app in any way that violates applicable law.

Availability and updates

We may update Kord at any time to fix bugs, add features, or adjust functionality. We don't guarantee uninterrupted availability — the app runs on your device, but third-party services (like MusicBrainz lookups or Google Drive) may be intermittently unavailable.

Disclaimer

Kord is provided "as is." We do our best to make it reliable, but we don't warrant that it will be error-free or that it will meet every expectation. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer of Kord is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we make material changes, we'll note it in the app's changelog and update the effective date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
